Terms & conditions

The success of your function is of primary importance to us and to ensure the best communication with our clients we do ask you to review our terms and conditions of business. If any matter is unclear please contact us.

Payment Terms

  1. A provisional quotation will be sent out following a client’s initial enquiry. If the initial quote is broadly acceptable then a final detailed quotation will be prepared for the client’s final approval.
  2. On acceptance of a quotation a non-refundable £100 deposit is required to confirm the booking and reserve the date. This is deducted from the final invoice.
  3. We ask you to confirm the guaranteed minimum number of guests at least ten days before the function. Any decrease in numbers after that time will not be accepted and full charge will be made. We will then forward preliminary invoice for this minimum number and this invoice must be paid in 50% before the event. If the actual attendance is greater or any other extra services are required that have not been pre-arranged it will be included in the final invoice which will be sent after completion of the event.
  4. All accounts are due for payment within 14 days of the final invoice date unless agreed otherwise. Any accounts outstanding after this time will be liable to a surcharge of 4% over the base rate of NatWest Plc per month. Such interest accruing from day to day.
  5. All invoices will be charged in Pounds Sterling.
  6. Payments should be made either by: electronic bank transfer, personal or business cheque with a cheque guarantee card; cash or bankers draft.

Children

  1. Children prices are charged as shown below:
  2. Children under 2 years of age are not charged unless a place setting is requested.
  3. Children between 2 and 12 can be supplied with a child’s platter on request or, alternatively, are offered a 30% discount (excluding finger food and fork buffets).
  4. Thirteen years old and above are charged at full price
  5. In order to satisfy the needs of your children guests it is recommended to specify your special requirements as early as possible.

Staff Hire

  1. Flying Chef Services can provide professional and experienced staff for all parties. We recommend that serving of all hot dishes require the assistance of our trained staff to ensure the intended quality. Although our waiting staff are qualified to serve hot buffet and canapés, the presence of our chef is essential during barbecues and dinner parties.
  2. Waiting and bar staff are dressed in traditional smart black and white unless requested otherwise. Chefs, assistants etc. dress accordingly to their function.
  3. Minimum 4 hour staff hire charge apply, hourly rate for staff working after midnight rises by 50%.
  4. If staff are present for the function, they will be responsible for all the clearing, washing and packing of equipment.

 

Cancellations

  1. Once the event has been confirmed cancellation charges will apply to cover all expenses made towards the event, cost of labour and loss of other business.
  2. If for any reason a function has to be cancelled Flying Chef Services reserves the right to charge as follows:
  3. Between date of receiving deposit and one month before function – deposit only.
  4. Between one month and ten days before function – 25% of total.
  5. Between ten days and 48 hours before the function – 75% of total
  6. Cancellation within 48 hours before function – complete fee.
  7. It is recommended that Wedding Insurance should be obtained for any function that is a Wedding Reception. Flying Chef Services can supply suitable proposal forms on request.

Conditions of Service

  1. The minimum order value for any function is £100 and all quotations are subject to availability on receipt of the order.
  2. All prices quoted are for a minimum of 20 guests. If your function is under this number please ask for a special quotation.
  3. Flying chef Services reserves the right to alter the price, change or replace any item of food that is unavailable or out of season with a suitable alternative but will do so after consultation with the client.
  4. Prices quoted do not include the provisions of crockery and cutlery, glassware, tables, chairs, entertaining equipment etc. – these items can be arranged but at an additional price.
  5. Hot menus can be supplied even where kitchen facilities are non-existent but might be subject to site survey first.
  6. Any item of equipment provided on hire or at a function that is lost or broken by the client or their guest will be charged at current replacement cost.
  7. Delivery and collection of buffets for non-staffed events is free of charge within South Bucks area, others may be subject to a delivery charge and prices are available on request.
  8. If no staff are engaged in the event equipment should be scraped clean and packed and either returned to us or left ready for collection.

General Terms & Conditions

  1. Flying Chef Services does not take any responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property of clients and their guests.
  2. All other conditions which may be specified in final quotation shall be as binding on the parties as the conditions set out here.
  3. Governing Law. The Contract between us shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and the English Courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any disputes between us.
